Base Runner v1.0 - File Manager Help File
-----------------------------------------
File Manager allows you to add or remove areas you are receiving using
netmail messages. You should have a password assigned to you by this
system for File Manager requests. To process a request, enter a netmail
message to either FILEMGR, BRUNNER or BASE RUNNER. Put your File Manager
password on the subject line. For example:
By: Steve Tupy
To: filemgr, CompuData Systems (1:229/428)
Re: mypassword
St: Pvt Local Kill
The text of the message is made up of File Manager commands. To add
a file echo area, just enter the area name on a line by itself. To
remove an area, prefix the area name with a '-'. For example:
PDNCEE
-PDNASM
+PCB-DOORS
This will remove the area PDNCEE, and add both PDNASM and PCB-DOORS.
Note that you can prefix an area with a '+' to add also. Either way
works the same. Commands must be ended with a line that contains only
a "---"(tear line) as the last line. All text after that is considered
regular message text(such as taglines, origins etc...).
Other commands available are prefixed with a "%". This instructs
Base Runner to generate a report. The following are these commands and
what they do:
%HELP - Send this text.
%LIST - Send a list of ALL available file echoes on this system.
%LINKED - Send a list of file echoes you are connected to.
%UNLINKED - Send a list of file echoes you are NOT connected to.
%QUERY - Send a list of file echoes you are and are not connected to.
%PASSWORD <newpassword> - Change your file manager password.
%RESEND <filename>
%TICMODE <modetype> - Changes your current ticmode(see below).
%ARCHIVER <newarc> - Changes current archiver type(see below).
One special '%' parameter is the Resend parameter. This tells Base
Runner to resend a previously processed file, if it exists on this system.
A new TIC will also be sent so your system can easily reimport this file.
The syntax for this feature is:
So %RESEND TEST.ZIP would instruct Base Runner to scan its file areas,
find the file and rehatch it to you with an accompanying TIC file. This is
assuming the file is still here, of course, if not, you will get a reply
saying it was not found.
Modetype can be any of the following...
FilesOnly - Sends files only, no TIC attach.
FilesAndTics - Sends Files and TICs(Standard Mode).
PackTics - Packs Tics but attaches files regularily.
PackFilesOnly - Packs files but sends files only.
PackBoth - Packs both files and tics into one archive.
Archive Type is a little more diverse because Base Runner supports
an unlimited number of archiver types. Here you must ensure that
this system recognizes your request. Here you must enter the 3
character string of the extension of the archive type you wish to
change to, for example...
ARCHIVER ZIP
... would tell Base Runner to scan through its archiver database
and find ZIP as well as change to the new value. Future archives will
be in that format...
Base Runner is a totally innovative file system for your BBS. It is the
most powerful file system available and can easily be freq'd from Alpha
City BBS , 1:229/2 with the magic name BASERUN.
